Amin Memon, M.D.
Dr. Memon has over 10 years of experience in the field of psychiatry. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Texas Tech University, completed his medical education at McGovern Medical School (University of Texas at Houston Medical School), trained in psychiatry at the University of Miami and George Washington University residency programs, with additional fellowship training at the Washington Baltimore Institute for Psychoanalysis and a Residency Fellowship in Health Policy at George Washington University. He has been recognized for his contributions to medical education, including receiving the Residency Teaching Award, and has mentored medical students, residents, and nurse practitioners, furthering the development of the next generation of mental health professionals. He is a co-author of Fundamentals of Consultation Liaison Psychiatry: Principles and Practice, has collaborated with the American Psychiatric Association annual meeting, and has also lectured on critical topics such as the opioid crisis and epidemic during Grand Rounds presentations

Dr. Memon’s extensive clinical experience spans various settings, including inpatient, outpatient, long-term and emergency care, in the fields of general psychiatry, emergency psychiatry, addiction psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, perinatal psychiatry, forensic psychiatry, community psychiatry, neurology, and internal medicine. His work encompasses medication management and a wide range of therapeutic modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodymanic therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma therapy, and other brief therapeutic approaches. He has also collaborated with the DC Department of Health, district attorneys, and public defenders to conduct civil commitment evaluations for patients with severe psychiatric conditions, as well as with state forensic teams treating Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity (NGRI) patients, and has worked with the Federal Bureau of Prisons, treating offenders.​
